Job Description:

The Medical Editor is responsible for editing marketing and advertising materials in virtually every medium (print, digital, TV, and mobile) and at every stage of development—from manuscript/layout through proofs. As quality control for the agency, this role is crucial to the successful execution of projects, ensuring that every project is accurate, error-free, and reads well; has a uniform, professional look; and adheres to brand, medical, legal, and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as the lead editor for at least one brand, and provides backup support to the editorial department as needed.
  2. Reviews all marketing and sales training materials (e.g., sales aids, journal ads, slide presentations, websites, emails, TV ads, and patient materials for assigned brand(s). Edits for organization, style, flow, accuracy and clarity of message, and adherence to client/brand and FDA guidelines.
  3. Fact-checks all content prior to med/legal reviews, and collaborates with Copy to ensure all claims are scientifically accurate and supported.
  4. Directs and supports all established editorial and agency processes, and partners with other team members (Account, Copy, Project Management, Medical) in ensuring all agency quality control measures are followed.
  5. Acts as an expert resource on grammar, punctuation, and brand consistency.
  6. Updates brand style guide and ensures all client-requested guidelines are followed.

Qualifications:

  1. At least 1-3 years of pharmaceutical editing experience either in promotional advertising or related fields.
  2. Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and a willingness to learn digital routing software.
  3. Attention to detail and exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  4. Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Familiarity with AMA style.
  6. Excellent time management and decision-making skills.

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $80,000 to $95,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package.
