The Department of Performing Arts and Technology provides an environment for all NC State students to develop skills and knowledge for a lifetime of arts engagement and various careers through excellence in teaching, performance, service, outreach, and creative and scholarly work.

The Department offers a variety of courses, including a new major in Music Technology and academic minors in Dance Studies, Dance Performance and Choreography, Music Studies, Music Performance, and Arts Entrepreneurship. More information can be found at Department website.

Position Overview

The Department seeks applications for part-time lecturers in music theory, aural skills, musicology, and ethnomusicology to provide semester-long instruction. University classes typically meet 2-3 times weekly for 3 hours. Responsibilities include preparing and teaching courses, grading, and mentoring students.

Please note: This position is part-time and is based on need and availability. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Candidates should specify their academic area(s) of expertise.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience: Requires a master’s degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.

Other Required Qualifications: Experience working with music students at the collegiate level.

Required License(s) or Certification(s): Valid NC Driver's License required.
