We are seeking a motivated and adaptable communications professional with at least one year of relevant agency or equivalent experience to join our team as an Account Executive. In this role you will support the day-to-day needs of one large account or multiple smaller accounts, honing your PR skills under the supervision of a Senior Account Executive or above. This role requires proactivity, strong organizational skills, and a passion for the healthcare/health sciences industry.
What You'll Do
- Research and gather intelligence for the client business and potentially for new business using internal and external research capabilities, including use of the Internet, social media platforms, and other existing and emerging communications resources.
- Draft basic PR materials such as spokespeople bios, news releases, fact sheets, pitch letters, case studies, blog posts, social media content, and influencer content concepts.
- Reference all communications assets per the client’s internal medical/legal/regulatory process, as well as an expertise in the clients MLR process (including submissions).
- Support the development of media lists and other reports (e.g., competitor, consumer, legislative or interest group analyses) as well as pitching trade and appropriate consumer media.
- Support media relations, including preparing editorial calendars, developing media lists, and pitching trade and appropriate consumer media; understanding the dynamics of media relations, including how to position different parts of the client’s initiatives to different media audiences.
- Support social media content development, including understanding platform best practices and regulations.
- Proactively source new contacts, new publications and influencers as necessary.
- Support the account team in arranging meetings and events, including press conferences, consumer events, senior client meetings, and other special events.
- Develop (or oversee an AAE develop) monitoring reports that require minimal editing from senior account leaders, and are free of typographical and grammatical errors.
- Monthly billing and budgeting processes with account leader, including opening purchase orders (POs), running job cards, developing and maintaining out-of-pocket trackers for projects.
- Assist with new business development, as needed, including research and logistical support, liaison between the new business team and Creative; attending brainstorms; gathering and organizing information as requested.
What You'll Need
- At least a year of experience in an agency or comparable setting.
- Demonstrated autonomy in proactively initiating and following through independently on projects.
- Proficiency in writing, including news releases and/or managing the client review process.
- Experience with writing assignments, with a strong attention to detail and quality of the output.
- Experience in social media techniques in client assignments, with exposure to ROI tools.
- Experience in billing and account management (e.g., managing the monthly billing process with oversight).
