Job Summary:
Responsible for providing constant patient observation and surveillance under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) of assigned patients. Observation includes monitoring more than one patient at a time at the monitoring station. The Remote Visual Monitor Tech (RVMT) must be able to clearly see all patients for which he/she is responsible at all times and uphold established Moffitt Cancer Center customer service standards.
The RVMT must be able to verbally redirect patients from engaging in risk behaviors and utilize the technology required for visualization and interventions for safe patient care. When monitoring patients via remote visual monitoring, the RVMT summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance by communication devices or a STAT Alert Alarm.
Education Qualification:
High School Diploma/GED
Minimum Experience Required:
Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred. Excellent verbal, interactive, and listening skills required. Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills and display the ability to collaborate with other healthcare providers. Basic computer skills required for remote visual monitoring.
