Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Product Marketing Manager to join our team at MasterClass. In this role, you will play a key part in driving the success of our online learning platform and 0 →1 bets through innovative product narratives and comprehensive marketing strategies. This role emphasizes innovation, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution—perfect for someone who can masterfully blend data and insights with creative thinking to influence product direction and elevate our marketing efforts. You will help shape the future of online education, pushing boundaries and redefining the way consumers learn and develop.

What You Will Do

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and execute product marketing strategies to drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention for MasterClass’s core product and innovation bets, aligning with its brand and business goals.
  • Consumer Insights & Market Research: Be a strategic partner to the Product, Marketing, and Content teams and help influence the future direction of MasterClass with your expertise in our market, competitors, and consumers.
  • Product Positioning & Messaging: Develop clear, compelling positioning and messaging frameworks that differentiate MasterClass in the online learning and education market.
  • Go-To-Market Strategy: Lead GTM strategy and execution for new product and feature launches, ensuring seamless coordination across all teams.
  • Campaign Development: Help develop fully-integrated marketing campaigns, leveraging insights and data to craft compelling narratives and creative assets.
  • Performance Analysis & Optimization: Establish and track metrics and KPIs to measure the performance of product marketing initiatives, providing actionable insights and recommendations for continuous optimization and improvement.
  • Engagement & Merchandising Strategy: Enhance the core product experience and develop merchandising strategy to surface most relevant content and drive engagement and long-term retention.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across Product, Marketing, Content and more to ensure seamless integration of product marketing initiatives into overall product development and marketing strategies.

About You

  • Product Marketing Expert: 6+ years of relevant experience, including 4+ years in consumer product marketing or a strategic marketing role, with a proven ability to develop and execute data-driven strategies that drive business growth.
  • Strategic & Creative Marketer: Combines big-picture strategic planning with hands-on execution, leveraging market insights and audience-driven storytelling to create innovative campaigns that enhance engagement and differentiation.
  • Go-to-Market & Positioning Leader: Experienced in leading GTM strategies and launching new products/features in fast-paced, high-growth environments, ensuring clear positioning, strong messaging, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Data-Informed Decision Maker: Uses market research, user behavior insights, and performance metrics to refine strategies, optimize campaigns, and make informed recommendations that enhance marketing impact.
  • Effective & Persuasive Communicator: Strong verbal and written skills, able to craft compelling narratives, translate complex ideas into simple messaging, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptable, Action-Oriented Problem Solver: Thrives in fast-moving, evolving environments, taking initiative to solve ambiguous challenges, iterate quickly, and pivot when necessary to seize new opportunities.
  • Collaborative & Versatile Team Player: Works cross-functionally, wears multiple hats when needed, and contributes beyond a defined role to support team and company success.
