Marketing Communications SpecialistStatus: Full time - 40 hours per weekClassification: ExemptLyngblomsten, an award-winning Christian nonprofit organization serving older adults through healthcare, housing, and community-based services, is hiring for a Marketing Communications Specialist. The specialist is responsible for producing and distributing a variety of materials through traditional and digital communication channels, with the goal of advancing Lyngblomsten's communication and marketing objectives. This position is a blend of digital marketing and writing.The Marketing Communications team serves as an in-house marketing/design/PR agency for Lyngblomsten. We help achieve the mission of bettering the lives of older adults by providing high quality, highly relevant work, along with advancing Lyngblomsten's reputation through strategic public relations, transparent constituent communications, and solid brand management.Please submit a cover letter, resume, and at least three marketing/communication work samples. Check out the Key Responsibilities below.Key Responsibilities:Job focus areas for the Marketing Communications Specialist are digital marketing and writing. Key responsibilities include the following:Help develop, execute, manage, and monitor digital marketing initiatives, specifically email campaigns, digital ads, and social mediaHelp coordinate the ongoing functionality of Lyngblomsten's websites, including creating, testing, and deploying new content (e.g., copy, web pages/sections, submission forms), developing a schedule for reviewing and updating content, and interfacing with website vendors for troubleshooting and technical requestsMonitor analytics for digital initiatives (e.g., website traffic, email campaigns); provide reporting and recommendations as requestedHelp the team produce videos for promotional, informative, or educational purposesDevelop ideas and write content (e.g., articles, web and brochure copy, fundraising copy, news releases, social media posts) for Lyngblomsten's communication channelsPrepare for writing assignments by conducting research and developing interview questions; conduct interviews and check factsProofread and edit others' writing, ensuring compliance and consistency with brand and style guidelinesTake photos and prepare them for print and digital useParticipate effectively in a team setting and communicate regularly with project stakeholders, helping to ensure deliverables meet the project vision, specifications, and timelineWork occasional evenings and weekends, as neededDesired Skills & Experience:Bachelor's degree in digital media, communications, marketing, journalism, or related field2 or more years of successful, related professional experienceExperience with tools used for website content management, social media management, and CRMExperience with basic HTML and CMS (ideally WordPress)Knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices and trends and experience optimizing web content accordinglyExperience designing, testing, and sending emails as part of marketing campaignsStrong research skills; adept at gathering accurate and reliable information and fact checkingExcellent writing, spelling, and proofreading skillsHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailsComfortable working on a PC platform (Windows Suite and Adobe Creative Suite)Experience with digital analytics and online advertising a plusExperience taking photos for publications using a DSLR camera a plusExperience capturing and editing video footage for marketing projects a plusExperience conducting interviews a plusGraphic design and pre-press experience a plusLyngblomsten is an award-winning Christian nonprofit organization serving older adults through healthcare, housing, and community-based services since 1906.
