Main Duties Under Project Manager’s/Professional Engineer’s supervision, develops drawings and sketches such as subsurface utility base maps and civil & electrical design drawings for proposed electrical distribution infrastructure. Applies basic drafting and CAD knowledge in accordance with company, client, and electrical discipline standards and procedures. Utilizes electrical design drawings for proposed infrastructure to input data into Geographic Information Systems (GIS) per client standards and procedures. Performs site visits, data collection, detailed field inspection, topographic surveys, substation surveys, utility pole inspections, building investigations, manhole inspections, document field notes and other data required to develop design drawings. Performs routine checking and/or verification of lower-level staff‘s work for technical quality, accuracy and compliance with customer, company, and electrical discipline standards.

Desired Education, Experience and Training CAD certification / trade school program or associate’s degree in civil, electrical or related engineering discipline preferred. 0-5 years of qualified industry experience. Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD platforms. Electrical distribution experience preferred. Ability to complete tasks in accordance with project procedures, applicable codes and/or standards and meet project deadlines. Basic written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to communicate effectively with immediate supervisor and other project personnel. Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
