LOCATION: International Gamco (9335 N 48th St. Omaha, NE)
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
PAY RANGE: Category 8
What You'll Do
The Technical Artist will be responsible for assisting in the production of charitable and lottery gaming products, specifically pull-tab tickets (break-open tickets) and bingo paper. This position will ensure that all artwork, including game designs and supporting materials, meets the quality standards for printing and adheres to state regulations for approval.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented graphic design professional with a post-secondary degree and 3+ years of experience, preferably in print production. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, they excel in pixel and vector image manipulation, color management, and typesetting, ensuring artwork meets printing standards and state regulations. Highly organized with strong problem-solving and time management skills, they efficiently handle large volumes of files and meet tight deadlines. A strong communicator and collaborator, they work seamlessly with teams and stay updated on industry trends, making them a valuable asset.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Artwork Creation and Quality Assurance:
- Handle a high volume of artwork production and ensure deadlines are met efficiently.
- Verify all artwork meets printing standards and adheres to specifications set forth in Game Development books.
- Develop all artwork for State submittals, including ticket fronts, symbols, and flares, ensuring they align with state regulations.
- Create custom game support materials, including those for lottery and stock games.
File Management and Workflow:
- Maintain organized file management, ensuring only finalized files are stored on the server.
- Create 1-up art for ticket fronts and manage imposed artwork for black plate changes, both for stock and custom games.
- Ensure artwork meets production requirements and is ready for press, following the guidelines in the Game Development books.
Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate professionally with internal teams, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide proofreaders with all necessary files for review.
- Fulfill requests for art files and support promotional material production (in-house or for trade shows).
Problem Solving:
- Troubleshoot artwork issues, find solutions, and consult with teams as needed.
- Engage in continued education or training to stay up to date with industry trends.
Other Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on Pollard Games products.
- Assist in creating website materials or game collections as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
- Post-Secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Graphic Arts Design, Digital Media Design, or Graphic and Print Technician.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in graphic or digital media design, with a preference for experience in a print environment.
- Experience with offset printing is considered an asset.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
- Strong pixel and vector image manipulation skills.
- Excellent typesetting and layout abilities.
- Knowledge of color management and graphic design theory.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in managing large volumes of electronic files in a networked environment.
- Familiarity with printing processes, particularly offset printing.
- Ability to interpret and transform written instructions and prize structures into printable files.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and judgment.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (sponsorship is not available).
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
