DoorDash USA
Senior User Experience Researcher, Ads & Promos Merchant Experience
DoorDash USA, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199
About the Team
At DoorDash, we serve a diverse audience of Merchants, Dashers, and Customers. Success to us means influencing product and company strategy while building amazing experiences for all of these audiences. These experiences often stem from insights that the Research team brings to the table. You will help guide the company to bigger and bolder new bets. Your scope will be broad and your autonomy will be high. About the Role
The Research team is looking for a researcher who will proactively shape insights and innovation with our Merchant Ads & Promos team. Ads & Promos at DoorDash is a broad team that builds tools for restaurants, retailers, and other partners to market on DoorDash and provide their customers with enticing discounts and deals that get them in the door and keep them coming back for more. This role is unique on our team, in that it will open a new frontier of research. You will be responsible for building foundational insights about how DoorDash merchants think about planning, optimizing, and analyzing their marketing campaigns, and how those experiences can be improved. You will be the only researcher working in this space, with broad autonomy to choose the most impactful projects and play a key role as THE voice of the merchant with cross-functional partners. You will be working alongside Product Management, Product Design, Content Design, as well as our Strategy and Operations, and Product Marketing teams. If you are passionate about research and being part of this dynamic team, this role is for you! You will report directly to the Head of Merchant Research within our Product organization. This role is hybrid, 1-2 days a week working from one of our Design hubs in Seattle, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or New York. You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
Contribute to DoorDash's product strategy and define the future of our service. Explore complex, ambiguous problem spaces, working with your team to understand the opportunity, and then chart a path forward. Be able to cite exciting and impactful changes in the product that stem directly from your research. Be able to learn from, and share your innovative research approaches with other researchers. Help all of our audiences have a world-class DoorDash experience every day. We're excited about you because…
You have 7+ years of demonstrable experience in qualitative/quantitative research and/or product, UX, or user research, including writing and analyzing surveys. You can define research questions and scope, identify appropriate methods, execute studies, and synthesize findings. You can proactively work with several functions across the company. You are passionate about translating findings into creative and strategic recommendations. You excel in a dynamic environment. You have an advanced degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related research or scientific field (While this is preferred, it is not required). As a bonus, you have experience working in digital marketing—you have opinions about ROAS and the pros and cons about CPC vs. CPM.
