Structured Cabling Designer
Must Haves: 5+ years' experience with structured cabling design and installation Strong user of Revit or AutoCad to develop infrastructure design plans Knowledge of cabling standards, regulations and best practices Strong documentation skills and ability to maintain accurate records of building infrastructure Exceptional client/stakeholder management skills
Pluses : RCDD Certification (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) or other relevant BICSI Installer certifications
Day to Day: A client in the integrated AV systems industry is hiring a Structured Cabling Designer. The Structured Cabling Designer will be responsible for designing and developing structured cabling systems for commercial projects and provide frequent client updates on project status. They will create detailed cabling diagrams, floor plans, and installation specifications, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to determine project requirements and deliverables. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., TIA/EIA, BICSI) is crucial, as is conducting site surveys to assess existing infrastructure and identify cabling needs. The role also involves preparing cost estimates and project timelines, overseeing the installation and testing of cabling systems to ensure quality and performance, providing technical support and troubleshooting during and after installation, and maintaining accurate project documentation and records.
Compensation: 100K - 120K
