•Own portions of the experience (e.g. Policy & Dashboard), or an initiative throughout the experience; and flex to other areas as needed.
•Work end-to-end: concept, plan and execute pixel perfect development-ready deliverables for our responsive web touchpoints.
•Juggle several projects and make smart decisions that balance quality, time, and resources.
•Be comfortable working in "gray area" and with shifting priorities. Helping to drive buy-in and experience strategy for your area of focus.
•Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Product Managers, Marketing, and Business partners to deliver outstanding experiences that improve customer experience, satisfaction, and company profits.
What will your job entail?
Job Responsibilities:
•Build user experiences driven by user needs, jobs-to-be-done (JTBD), and business needs.
•Collaborate with product managers and engineers to understand the product & requirements, improve the visual and interactive experience, and bring designs to life within technical constraints.
•Rapidly and thoroughly produce multiple concepts and high-fidelity prototypes, knowing when to explore deeper or change paths.
•Present design concepts to team leadership and external partners, leveraging available data and research to justify recommendations.
•Conduct occasional research and/or partner with researchers to plan, interpret, and apply user testing insights.
•Gather, catalog, and address UX problems in the current experience.
•Communicate and document design direction clearly for team members using wireframes, storyboards, process flows, sitemaps and polished final designs and prototypes.
•Help shape the culture of our growing design team and identify new opportunities for work that span across our organizational boundaries.
•Document, optimize and help implement a design system.
•Effectively communicate changes within the design team to assess and inform updates and maintain consistency across neighboring feature areas with thoroughness and thoughtfulness.
•Be a great design team member - we make each other better designers by providing and being receptive to feedback.
•Stay up to date with industry trends, competition, and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
•6+ years of experience with the UX/product design, development, and execution process - demonstrable via design portfolio, use cases, in-market products, etc. Portfolios should highlight challenges you faced, how you collaborated with others, what you learned, and the personal/business/end-user impact of your work.
•2+ years of experience working in e-commerce, insurance or in other spaces where designing for complex use cases and requirements were the norm.
•Bachelor's degree in a design or tech-related field or equivalent industry experience.
•User-centered approach to problem solving that leverages research, analytics, and empathy combined with strong design intuition.
•An understanding of today's common design patterns & UI best practices.
•Commitment to professional growth and learning.
•Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to tailor communications to your audience.
•Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
•Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•Ability to factor in the big picture while also being able to pay attention to details.
•Enthusiasm, kindness, respect, accountability, and curiosity.
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Technical Requirements:
•Proficient with current UX/Service Design tools (we use Figma but we can ramp you up)
•Competence in all aspects and levels of interaction/UX design from information architecture and workflows to micro-interactions.
•Excellent UI design skills.
