Job Title: Senior UX Design Strategist
Location: On-site (5 days/week in Spring, TX) Open to candidates who can relocate at their own expense

We are seeking a Senior UX Design Strategist with a strategic mindset to join a leading energy company in the oil and gas sector. This role is perfect for a generalist UX designer who excels in developing and executing UX strategy while also having the ability to conduct independent UX research. The focus of this position is on strategic design leadership with an emphasis on defining and delivering impactful user experiences, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and leading projects with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead UX strategy across multiple initiatives, developing and delivering a clear vision for user experience improvements in alignment with business goals.
  • Define and drive user-centered design strategies that address both user needs and business objectives, focusing on creating scalable and efficient UX solutions.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end UX delivery, from strategic ideation to final implementation, ensuring alignment with the overall product roadmap.
  • Conduct independent UX research, including usability studies, stakeholder interviews, and competitive analysis, to inform design decisions and improve overall user experience.
  • Create and communicate user personas, journey maps, and user flows to define and validate the strategic direction for UX design.
  • Stakeholder management: Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various departments and senior leadership to ensure alignment between user needs, business objectives, and project timelines.
  • Maintain and evolve design systems to ensure consistency and a cohesive user experience across multiple platforms.
  • Drive the adoption of UX best practices within the organization, providing leadership and mentoring to junior designers.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX strategy and delivery across diverse projects.
  • Proven ability to create and execute UX strategy, focusing on long-term vision while addressing immediate business and user needs.
  • Extensive experience leading UX research to uncover user insights, inform product decisions, and shape design direction.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and alignment on design objectives.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, driving projects forward and owning the strategy and execution.
  • Expertise in information architecture, interaction design, and visual design, with an emphasis on crafting intuitive, user-friendly experiences.
  • Strong experience presenting and advocating for design strategy to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working within complex, enterprise-level systems and platforms.

Additional Information:
  • This position is on-site 5 days a week, with some flexibility.
  • You'll be expected to independently manage and deliver UX strategy for multiple projects across the organization.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $75 to $90 per hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. Additional benefits include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in 401k plan with company match + after 90 days = 8 paid holidays and 40 hours of paid PTO.
