Role Summary
The Marketing Design Manager is responsible for strategic and compelling design concepts as member of the overall in-house studio team at Alaska Air Group, with a focus on the Hawaiian Airlines brand. As an individual contributor, this role will develop and execute creative from concept ideation through to final deliverables. The ideal candidate will be organized and collaborative with a mind for creative problem solving.

Salary Range
$86,400 - $129,600 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don't typically hire at the top of the range.

Role Summary
The Marketing Design Manager is responsible for strategic and compelling design concepts as member of the overall in-house studio team at Alaska Air Group, with a focus on the Hawaiian Airlines brand. As an individual contributor, this role will develop and execute creative from concept ideation through to final deliverables. The ideal candidate will be organized and collaborative with a mind for creative problem solving.
Key Duties
- Acts as a subject matter expert in strategic design concepts, raising the bar for how our brands are expressed across various touchpoints.
- Leads visual design for a broad range of advertising and marketing communication projects, including digital and social ads, sponsorship activations, sales presentations, brochures, menus, and onboard and airport announcements, with minimal direction from leadership.
- Guides and contributes to the creative output of the in-house studio team to ensure alignment with strategic goals and brand consistency.
- Presents work in a clear, cohesive manner, supporting all business & brand objectives across both local and global landscapes.
- Designs and refines digital assets such as homepages, landing pages, paid social ads, and emails, ensuring usability, consistency, and functionality.
- Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to gather information, meet technical requirements, and deliver projects on-time and on-budget.
- Ensures creative deliverables maintain brand standards through expert typography, layout, and graphic design techniques.
- Provides quality assurance to uphold high standards across all creative outputs.
- Partners with marketing managers, product owners, and copywriters to develop impactful and innovative creative solutions.
- Contributes strategic ideas and partners with other creatives on concepting and reviews.
- Stays current with industry trends and technologies, actively identifying opportunities to enhance creative processes.
- Builds strong relationships with internal clients, external agencies, and vendors to drive collaboration and results.
- Demonstrates passion for marketing and advertising, with experience spanning print, digital, social, radio, web, and experiential channels.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
- 4 years of experience in multi-disciplinary design, marketing, or related area.
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in visual communications, graphic design, advertising or related area, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- A strong portfolio of work demonstrating the ability to change guest perceptions and behavior with compelling creativity.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills. A proven track record of presenting to and influencing management, and ability to present to all levels within the organization.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Experience in relevant design tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Figma, InDesign, Premiere
- Think and act both strategically and tactically. The successful candidate will be a tenacious self-starter with a passion for branding, who can serve as a strong advocate for our guests.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to conceptualize and execute projects, with strong bias for action.
- Collaborative attitude and a drive to do breakthrough work.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- Strategy background, preferably with experience working with premium brands.
- Advertising or creative agency experience.
