Overview:

*This is an IATSE Local 600 Publicist Guild position covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

This position oversees all aspects of global publicity campaigns for film and streaming content, with a focus on the post-theatrical window. Responsibilities include developing and implementing global press campaigns and collaborating cross-functionally with teams such as marketing strategy, digital, creative, product, and media. The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to execute high-impact, consumer-facing publicity campaigns.

Responsibilities:

Campaign Development & Execution
  • Strategize and implement consumer-facing publicity campaigns for post-theatrical releases.
  • Execute integrated campaigns in collaboration with marketing, digital, creative, and media teams across all relevant windows.
  • Oversee team and agencies in executing campaign strategies, events, press days, content delivery, tours, and experiential activations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for international campaign communication, including milestones, materials, and strategy.
    • Communicate strategy, guidelines, and materials to international markets.


Content & Asset Management
  • Administer content strategy, media assets, and approval workflows.
  • Oversee content with agencies, ensuring stakeholder approvals and timely distribution of assets.
  • Build and manage synergy partnerships for campaigns (e.g., Parks, Broadcast, Consumer Products, and Creative Content).


Talent Relations
  • Develop strong working relationships with talent, their representatives, and studio partners.
  • Serve as a senior contact for talent reps, overseeing talent activity related to campaigns.


Team & Agency Management
  • Oversee agency activity to ensure campaign goals, deliverables, and timelines are met.
  • Mentor and guide publicity staff on projects to support their professional development.


Strategic Planning & Communication
  • Develop and present strategic publicity plans aligned with broader marketing objectives and corporate goals.
  • Work closely with the publicity team to review and finalize materials such as press releases, talking points, itineraries, and campaign recaps.
  • Proactively identify and advocate for new publicity opportunities in collaboration with the Director.
  • Communicate campaign status, updates, and escalations to the Director in a timely manner.


Project Management
  • Administer multiple Home Entertainment releases and projects simultaneously, ensuring priorities are clear and deadlines are met.
  • Oversee publicity timelines, wrap-up coverage reports, and project-related presentations.
  • Submit campaign performance reports and media coverage updates to key stakeholders.


Additional Responsibilities
  • Support campaigns with strong organization, follow-through, and timely communication with executives and partners.
  • Respond promptly to emails and requests.
  • Exhibit strong presentation skills, both written and oral.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in publicity, preferably with a studio, network, streaming service or technology company
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with maturity and confidence in working with colleagues at all levels
  • Experience pitching press, generate offers and facilitate requests
  • Has ability to mentor and teach junior team members
  • Possesses strong presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Well-organized, with strong relationship building, excellent collaborator and time management skills
  • Ability to balance numerous projects simultaneously, prioritize deadlines and be effective in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Has solid entertainment press relationships with theatrical and at-home viewing experience a plus


The pay rate for this position in Burbank, CA is $3,266.20 per week based on a 56-hour work week.
