Job Title: Panel Designer
Job Description
We are seeking a Panel Designer to join our custom panel solutions organization that specializes in making panels to meet UL specifications. The ideal candidate will use electrical principles to transform rough electrical panel ideas into complete submittals ready for production. You will collaborate with internal and external customers to define the boundaries of your design and select components to meet requirements or specifications.
Responsibilities
You will work in a panel manufacturing shop, primarily focusing on desk work and idea execution. The team is small, and you will interact directly with 2-3 people, as well as a broader team of engineers, sales individuals, and customers. Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $72.00/hr.

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Apply electrical design principles to develop panel designs.
- Determine input power for panels and address risk points such as short circuit current rating.
- Handle both high and low voltage requirements, up to 480V (120V/277V/480V).
- Select appropriate electrical components, including breaker curves, coiler voltages, and relays.
- Perform load calculations and select wire gauge accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with UL508A certification standards.
- Proficiency in electrical design principles.
- Experience with input power and risk points for electrical panels.
- Knowledge of high and low voltage systems (up to 480V).
- Ability to select and understand electrical components such as breaker curves, coiler voltages, relays, and wire gauges.
- Active UL508A certification.
- 5-10 years of directly related experience.
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- ISO9000/9001 knowledge.
- Project Management skills, including lead time and ordering time management.
- PMP certification.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Six Sigma certification.
- Experience with MEP construction drawings.
- Redlining experience.
