CNT is looking for a Senior Commerce Editor to support the brand's ambitious efforts across core categories-specifically service-driven content for travel booking and travel retail. The Senior Commerce Editor will work directly with CNT's Brand Lead, along with a team of dedicated writers and editors, to develop and edit stories on a daily basis, manage CNT's editorial calendar, and drive performance to meet our ambitious revenue growth targets. The role requires an in-depth understanding of how CNT's established authority in travel can lend itself to engaging travel recommendations. The role requires strong editing skills and deep familiarity with journalistic best practices in commerce publishing, as well as deep knowledge of search engine optimization. The person in this role will report to the Brand Lead.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Edit/publish 8-10 articles per week, focusing on service-minded shopping roundups across hotel recommendations, villas and home rentals, cruise bookings, and travel retail in addition to potential growth categories
  • Work closely with teammates and freelancers to take content from pitch to publication and meet revenue needs
  • Rigorously fact-check and line-edit drafts
  • Maintain CNT's brand, voice, and aesthetic guidelines across all content and channels
  • Partner with the Brand Lead, data analysts, and third-party partners to ensure content is monetized effectively
  • Maintain and edit calendar with realistic deadlines and publish dates
  • In collaboration with priority merchant partners, help develop, plan, and execute content lineups to support those partnerships and help us meet our revenue goals
  • Work cross-functionally with CNT stakeholders to achieve editorial excellence and growth strategies across all platforms, including social, newsletter, and video
  • Understand various analytics metrics, and take action to meet targets as needed
  • Team leadership and career development of the content and production teams to develop a best-in-class multi-skilled commerce team that successfully blends creativity with business insights
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Partnerships Team
  • Cross functional teams (Edit, SEO, Newsletter, CRM, Social, Analytics, Technology, Finance)
  • Third Parties (Coupons, Content Production, Data)


Skills & Qualifications
  • A minimum of six years of commerce editing experience
  • Experience in service journalism required and specific travel and product recommendations preferred
  • A passion for travel
  • Deep understanding of affiliate and SEO best practices
  • Proven experience managing several editorial staffers at different levels, from top-editing to one-on-one performance feedback
  • Ability to produce conversational, approachable commerce stories that are factually accurate, and that motivate and inspire readers
  • Strong organizational skills, self-directed work style, and polished communication skills


This position is based at our headquarters at 1 World Trade Center, New York, NY

This is a guild position.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $90,000-$110,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.

In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
