User Experience Design (UXD) team at Aviatrix delivers all user-facing aspects of the product. UXD spans across California (USA), Berlin (Germany) and now is establishing the Design function in Bangalore (India). Product Designers are strategic partners to Engineering and Product Management, helping to define the user-facing features and refining these into comprehensive customer and user experiences. They are responsible for creating functioning and well-crafted products and experiences that users love and engage with. Requirements We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. Minimum Passion for design, telling customer stories, and simplifying complex problems. Experience guiding junior designers to ensure high quality designs and timely design delivery. 4+ years of experience working as IC in a UXD team. Has a portfolio highlighting multiple projects and your direct contributions. Has proficiency with Figma to create high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes to convey design concepts and collaborating using the tool. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for precision in delivering pixel-perfect designs and visual design skills. Preferred Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 6-8 years working in UX for enterprise products (Infrastructure domain is an added bonus). Strong portfolio of building quality experiences in complex technical products. Ability to explain their work, process, and decisions. They should crave feedback to help produce the best work and be comfortable presenting their work. Quick pace of iteration and responding to feedback from cross-functional partners. Thinks in systems and is able to extrapolate and extend shared patterns and behaviors. Key Responsibilities Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor junior designers, providing constructive feedback, guidance, and skill development opportunities. Cross-functional Collaboration: Lead and facilitate discussions and collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. Advocacy: Advocate for user-centered design principles within the organization, influencing product decisions at a higher level. Ensure consistency: Maintain and evolve our design system to ensure a cohesive visual language across all platforms. Problem-solve creatively: Leverage your Interaction Design skills to address complex design challenges and enhance user engagement. Domain Understanding: In the course, gain a deep understanding of Aviatrix’s Cloud networking product, and user motivations. You’ll combine your love of design craft with expert collaboration through all phases of the design cycle. In this role, you will contribute to the overall UX vision and strategy for the company or product area and responsible for setting and maintaining organizational design culture. You're a hands-on maker and you'll pave the way for innovation in not only what we make, but how we make it. The user-centric process is as important as the final design artifact that is created. This is an individual contributor (IC) role that will report to the Head of Design. You will be responsible for the creation of elegant and strategic product features owning them end-to-end. Success in this role is defined by team sentiment as well as the quality of the user experience including the impact, consistency, ease of use, and finesse of the final product. As a member of the growing team, you will have the opportunity to influence the culture and process of the design team and accelerate your design career growth. And in the process, you’ll be able to improve overall experiences of Aviatrix product experiences by designing thoughtfully considered experiences.
