Job Description
Responsibilities: (What You’ll do):
Manage and aid in solving complex technical problems, in a challenging and fast paced professional environment.
Manage multiple projects with short deadlines, workflows and schedules simultaneously.
Assist with off-site inspections of roadways, buildings and vehicles, using laser scanning hardware, GPS point collection systems, and UAV systems for photogrammetry.
Work in conjunction with attorneys, engineers, and subject matter experts to create technical, explanatory videos, animations, infographics and exhibits.
Process laser scans to align and optimize point cloud data for use in various software applications.
Process drone imagery in photogrammetry applications to create optimized point clouds and texture assets.
Create 3D Models and other assets of vehicles, real-world objects, environments, etc., for use in accident reconstruction simulation software and 3D animation applications. Use point-cloud data, CAD data, documents, and reference photography to ensure accuracy of assets.
Create 3D animations in Blender that go beyond what can be done in simulation software applications (such as HVE, Virtual Crash, PC Crash etc.)
Skills & Software:
Hard surface asset modeling of vehicles, devices, etc. (3DS Max, Blender, AutoCAD, Rhino, Sketchup Pro, etc.).
3D animation: (Primarily Blender), Rendering Engines: (Eevee, Cycles)
Point Cloud Processing (Faro Scene, Cyclone Register 360, Cloud Compare, Recap Pro, MeshLab)
Photogrammetric processing (AGISoft Metashape Pro, Pix4D, Recap Photo, Drone Deploy)
Drone operation and scene capture (FAA Part 107 certification a plus)
GPS Point Capture (Trimble)
Motion tracking software (SynthEyes, FSpy, After Effects)
Experience working with video and photograph-based camera matching to imported Point Cloud/Laser Scan Data (PhotoModeler)
Video and Graphics production and editing (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects)
Knowledge of Python scripting
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with digital camera operation (Photo and Video)
Qualifications/Education:
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in engineering, 3D modeling/animation or related field (preferred)
Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver projects with deadlines as well as work autonomously to go the extra mile in delivering assignments
Willingness and ability to learn new concepts, techniques, and software quickly.
Keep up with industry trends and related technologies. Affiliations or memberships in related communities a plus (Software/Hardware user groups, Alpha/Beta testing programs, etc.).
Experience:
Blender: 2 years (Required) Other 3d animation/modeling software a plus.
Hard surface/technical 3d modeling: 2 years (Required).
Creating 3D assets for simulation from scanned data/photogrammetry: 1 year (Required).
Adobe After Effects/Premiere Pro: 2 years (Preferred).
Video/camera matching: 2 years (Preferred).
Required examples of work:
4-5 images demonstrating 3d modeling and texturing projects.
2-3 technical animation examples or physics-driven examples.
A document explaining each of the samples you provide: Give a short description of each project, what you were responsible for on each sample (whether it was a solo project or team project), and the tools and techniques you used to create them.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
