Sculpting Artist/Pumpkin Carving Instructor
Job Type: Seasonal

DESCRIPTION

• BOLD Media is looking for an experienced Sculpting Artist or Pumpkin Carver to lead hands on pumpkin carving at the Hollowed Harvest: Wicked Labyrinth event in Salem, MA this fall.
• The Wicked Labyrinth runs from the 3rd week in September through October 31st. This year we are offering a hands on pumpkin carving activity where guests can roll up their sleeves and get into the spirit of Halloween by carving their very own jack-o-lanterns.
• Create freestyle jack-o-lantern artwork to be demo'd and included in the event

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prep pumpkins for guests to carve (pre gut them)
• Assist guests with crafting their pumpkin designs (as needed)
• Work with customers and staff to create a memorable experience for families attending the event all season long

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to carve designs into pumpkins.
• Experience sculpting.
• Have strong artistic eye and be detail oriented.
• Possess good problem-solving skills.
• Be able to work as an instructor and guide participants.
• Have excellent communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Artistically inclined individual
• Punctual, and able to work ALL event dates/times without exception. Note that artists are required to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to opening each night to get ready to greet guests.
• Equally comfortable working with kids and adults alike
• Amateur and professional artists are both encouraged to apply
• Submission of photo or video samples of previous artwork is a plus, (sculpting or carving samples strongly preferred)
