Role: We’re looking for a IC Product Design Lead to join our growing Design team. We are hiring at multiple levels. At Collective we are building first-of-its-kind, category-defining AI-enabled financial back-office to help millions of solopreneurs start and run their businesses more effectively. As a Design Lead, you’d be at the forefront of bringing to life magical experiences for our customers and have the opportunity to shape our overall design system, UX/UI patterns and more. We are backed by top-tier Fintech and AI VCs - General Catalyst, QED, Gradient (Google’s venture fund to invest in AI companies), Expa, and more. We pride ourselves in rethinking established paradigms and bringing creative solutions into existence for our customers. Our product designers take a product, feature, or experience from ideation to production. This includes vision setting, designing solutions, prototyping, bringing along cross-functional teams, overseeing implementation, and collaborating with other designers, product managers, and engineers. Responsibilities: Deeply understand our customers’ needs, business objectives, and state of the industry to imagine & bring to life paradigm-changing experiences. Establish a high bar for visual polish and intuitive interaction patterns. Clearly define customer and business problems. Explore broad-to-narrow solutions with thoughtful designs. Ideate, design, launch and improve products to help advance Collective’s mission. Work with a cross-functional product development team (product managers, engineers, designers, operations, sales & marketing) to ship innovative and well-crafted experiences, for scale. Optimize for execution velocity while maintaining a high-quality bar, making tradeoffs between design choices and resources available. Contribute to growing a robust & refined design system. What we want you to bring: 6 - 8+ years of experience as a Product Designer. Demonstrated impact on product strategy and customer experience in previous roles, preferably within Fintech or Consumer Tech. Outstanding UX capabilities and strong visual design competency, including visual, UI/UX, copywriting and systems-design. Experience with and a high bar for visual polish and intuitive, simple design patterns. Passion for turning complex problems into simple & engaging solutions. Innate understanding of the end-to-end design process - from identifying customer needs and pain points to delivering exceptional customer experiences. The ability to apply consumer insights and metrics to inform design decisions and influence the product roadmap. Strong systems thinker with the ability to connect the dots across the entire customer journey. Passion for an iterative process. You think fast on your feet, come up with solutions to important situations, are swift to make decisions and take calculated risks, while soliciting and acting on feedback. Excellent communication and storytelling skills, as well as the ability to align teams and stakeholders around a shared vision. Growth mindset, proactively seeking out opportunities to improve, always searching for new knowledge and ideas. You experiment, learn from failure, and iterate. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the VP of Product; Bay Area locations are preferable but we are open to other locations for the right candidate (our team currently works remotely). Bonus Points if you have: Previous work experience in a consumer-focused tech organization. Experience in customer journey mapping and strategic design to complement design foundations. A passion for design systems with experience building UI components from scratch and expanding an existing design system. Familiarity in creating interactive prototypes to enhance the customer story. A design evangelist with strong business acumen to help further the value of design within an organization. What we offer in return: Compensation Range: $155,000-$190,000 USD annual base salary.
