Overview
The Senior Director of Corporate Communications and Engagement will lead the development and execution of integrated communication strategies that align with the company's strategic objectives and culture, enhance the company's reputation, strengthen its brand, and drive employee engagement. This individual will report to the SVP, Investor Relations & Corporate Communications and oversee all aspects of corporate communications including internal communications, executive communication, media relations, and crisis communications. Highly collaborative in nature, this position will collaborate closely with executive and cross-functional teams to ensure the communications strategy is impactful, engaging and connects employees to the company's strategic objectives and culture.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate communications strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives. Oversee internal communication initiatives that are aimed at enhancing employee engagement and ensuring alignment with corporate values. Act as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team on communication strategies and messaging. Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists and industry influencers. Lead strategies for public relations campaigns and manage media inquiries. Partner with HR and other departments to deliver effective messaging during organizational changes. Lead the development of crisis communication plans and ensure readiness for rapid response. Lead the planning and execution of the communication strategy for all employee town hall meetings and annual business meetings, working as an advisor to executive management and marketing. Oversee messaging, platforms such as the corporate intranet and various corporate campaigns. Monitor and analyze public perception of the company's brand. Develop strategies to enhance and protect the company's reputation across all stakeholders. Establish KPI's to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns. Provide regular reports and insights to the executive leadership team. Collaborates cross-functionally with departments including human resources, investor relations, legal, finance, marketing, and senior management. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related discipline, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience in managing crisis communications and serving as a company spokesperson. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans. Ability to navigate complex, fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities. Strong analytical skills to measure and report on the impact of communication initiatives. Competencies: Strategic Vision, Project Management, Adaptability, Professionalism, Exceptional Written and Verbal Communications, Creativity, Innovative, Presentation skills, Teamwork & Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Self-Starter, Problem Solving, Organizational skills Working Conditions: May require periodic evening and/or weekend activity to meet company deadlines and/or satisfy peak project workloads. Periodic overnight travel. This is a hybrid role based in Xeris' Chicago office and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at management's discretion.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $250,000 to $280,000. Final determination of base salary offered will depend on several factors relevant to the position, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, education, market location, and business need. This role will include eligibility for bonus and equity. The total compensation package will also include additional elements such as multiple paid time off benefits, various health insurance options, retirement benefits and more. Details about these and other offerings will be provided at the time a conditional offer of employment is made.
