Base pay range
$67,100.00/yr - $117,200.00/yr

Part of Charter Communications, Spectrum News is made up of over 30 hyper-local news and regional sports networks that are constantly expanding and dedicated to producing original, unbiased, and high-quality content.
This creative technologist will support multiple real-time graphic systems by developing templates, creating workflows that work in different newsroom configurations, managing the equipment so that it performs optimally and sharing knowledge with others on the team.
Responsibilities
- Create and troubleshoot real-time graphic template building and augmented reality graphics using multiple platforms.
- Work with Art Directors and the technical creative team to integrate new graphics into insert packages, virtual set systems, and augmented reality systems.
- Display proficient technical skills across multiple platforms while adhering to high production standards.
- Collaborate with experienced Graphics Operators, Production Operations Management, and Engineering to troubleshoot system issues and support all graphics machines, software, plugins, and workflow.
- Participate in discussions relating to data feeds and help develop and maintain workflows that impact graphic templates on all platforms.
- Lead cross-functional integrations from a graphic perspective.
- Mentor and train other real-time graphic specialists on all platforms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of template building in Chyron, VizRt, Zero Density, and After Effects.
- Knowledge of SQL, XML, and Microsoft Excel databases.
- Experience with scripting, Javascript, visual basics, XML, JSON, and XPRESSO.
- Attention to detail and ability to train others on multiple technical platforms.
- Team-oriented and highly collaborative with a strong desire to increase production value.
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphics Design or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Related Work Experience
Experience with graphics systems in news or sports – 5+ years.
Working Conditions
Office environment; may involve phone or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other issues.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
The base pay for this position generally is between $67,100.00 and $117,200.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
