The Manager, Editorial Content oversees editorial operations and drives storytelling excellence across all communications verticals. This role is responsible for managing the editorial calendar, ensuring timely content delivery, and aligning content strategies with organizational goals and current trends. The Managing Editor will play a critical role in identifying compelling story angles, managing the editorial content library, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful and engaging content.

How You'll Shine:

Editorial Strategy & Planning

  • Oversee the editorial calendar to ensure alignment with key organizational priorities, timely and trending events, and communications goals.
  • Work closely with the Director, Content Integration and Strategy, to develop and execute an editorial strategy that supports the organization’s overall content goals.
  • Identify compelling story angles and create editorial budgets to plan and prioritize content development effectively.

Content Management

  • Manage content delivery timelines to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Oversee the creation, organization, and maintenance of the editorial content library to ensure accessibility and reuse of high-quality assets.
  • Collaborate with content creators, writers, and designers to develop engaging, on-brand editorial content for multiple platforms and channels.

Editorial Oversight

  • Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with the organization’s voice and tone.
  • Maintain editorial guidelines and standards to ensure high-quality and cohesive storytelling across all platforms.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to content creators to elevate the quality of editorial work.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including internal communications, PR, Social Media, Owner Communications, brand, and digital, to align content strategies and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Partner with analytics teams to track content performance and adjust strategies to optimize impact.

Trend Monitoring & Innovation

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, news, and best practices to ensure content remains relevant and impactful.
  • Bring innovative ideas for storytelling and editorial formats to enhance audience engagement.

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 10% travel will be required for this role.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to manage editorial calendars and content delivery schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of storytelling, content creation, and editorial processes across multiple platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS) and editorial planning tools.
  • Organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with content performance metrics and the ability to use data to inform editorial decisions.
  • Must be a skilled writer and editor with a sharp editorial eye for good storytelling.
  • Must be able to manage multiple timelines and deadlines effectively.
  • Must be able to work with cross-functional teams and production teams.
  • 8-10+ years of experience in editorial management, preferably in online media or digital content production.
