ABOUT THE ROLE

REFORM is hiring a Senior Manager, Content who will shape our marketing and communications content, manage our publishing calendar, lead our marketing content program, and create digital platform strategies. This person will be instrumental in helping to elevate and amplify REFORM’s presence across digital and social platforms while advancing our organization’s mission of transforming the criminal justice system.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Manage REFORM’s Content Marketing and Digital Presence (60%)

  1. Create and manage a content marketing program for our digital channels, social platforms, and in-person programs.
  2. Develop and drive a cohesive editorial strategy for REFORM’s social presence, website content, and email communications.
  3. Create digital platform strategies that promote brand growth, drive audience engagement, and increase mobilization.
  4. Lead our editorial program by creating strategies and operations that help us find, verify, and produce real stories of people who have been impacted by the criminal justice system.
  5. Manage our publishing calendar to ensure we never miss an important moment.

Provide Expertise & Leadership (30%)

  1. Establish metrics for success and target audience profiles to ensure strategic growth.
  2. Use data, insights, and listening to track growth and identify risks/areas for improvement.
  3. Build strategically aligned relationships with social partners and influencers.
  4. Work with REFORM staff to understand our state-by-state legislative strategies.
  5. Advise REFORM senior staff and principals on their social media presence.
  6. Be an educator and work across teams to make REFORM a digital-first organization.
  7. Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and best practices.

Other duties as assigned (10%)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. At least 2 years of in-house experience managing social and digital channels.
  2. Experience managing social and digital for a media, news, or mission-driven organization.
  3. Direct experience working with social and digital platforms (e.g., Meta, TikTok, X, etc.).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. At least 5 years of experience managing social and digital channels.
  2. Excellent editorial skills with the ability to identify a good story.
  3. Exceptional understanding of best practices and emerging trends within the current social media landscape.
  4. Eager and able to execute hands-on tasks.
  5. Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and meet competing deadlines.
  6. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to deliver outstanding work under pressure.
  7. Curious and ambitious brand thinker and storyteller.
  8. Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-obsessed.
  9. Deep enthusiasm for learning and finding better ways to do things.
  10. Highly proficient with Google Suite, Mac OS, Slack, and social media platforms.
  11. A passion for and commitment to REFORM’s mission.

WORK DEMANDS

  1. Occasional travel to conferences or events, roughly 5% of the time.
  2. Ability to post on social media or respond to messages outside of usual business hours, roughly 20% of the time.
  3. Support carrying tripods or other equipment when filming, roughly 5% of the time.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Authorized to work in the U.S.
  2. Live within commuting distance of New York City (midtown).
  3. Must be able to work in-person, at the office, 5 days a week.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The salary for this position will likely be ~$104,000-$130,000. REFORM offers competitive base salaries based on the 75th percentile of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size.
