Job Description

Lucy Paris is an established Contemporary brand currently searching for a talented and experienced Senior Designer for Women’s fashion wear to join our growing team. You will work in a fast-paced environment alongside passionate and energetic creative individuals, contributing to our vision of being the fashionable brand.

Who you will work with: You will report to the Design Director and partner closely with Merchandising, Product Development, Production, and Technical Design teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Design Director to implement design strategy.
  • Research and inspire through shopping the competitive marketplace and identifying product opportunities including trends, silhouettes, moods, color theory, and fabric development.
  • Understand design and fit intent, material, and construction; present ideas articulately to cross-functional partners and design leadership.
  • Support collections that execute against aligned line plans and assortment strategies while delivering responsible cost targets.
  • Own a high style count/high level of style complexity from concept through creation; manage collaboration with cross-functional partners to deliver innovative, brand-appropriate, and impeccably fitting designs.
  • Initiate and manage off-calendar concept development in line with seasonal strategy.
  • Partner with Product Developer and Vendors on raw material & trim sourcing.
  • Create, maintain, and update tech packs, sketches, and design decks, including fit comments and design changes.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members through execution of seasonal concept and design direction.
  • Develop, train, and manage seasonal interns.
  • Identify and create solutions for problems facing product design, including ways of working, deadlines, and supply chain issues.
  • Stay focused on the Lucy Paris consumer by actively reading consumer reviews online, visiting stores, and participating in trade show events.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and proactively communicate changes and updates.
  • Adhere to Global Calendar deadlines and expectations through each milestone point.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamics and manage up where necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of identifying trends and delivering results.
  • Solid understanding of the marketplace and competitive set.
  • Exceptional knowledge of garment construction, fit, and finishing.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, Office, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Ability to multi-task, think, and work creatively with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive working relationships among team members, management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for the brand.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, or Full Time

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
