POSITION PURPOSE
To assist in the development, implementation and successful execution of Orion’s marketing plan and to assist in community affairs. Develops and implements creative in print, digital, electronic, social media and direct mail marketing strategies to optimize marketing effectiveness and enhance user experience. Prepares technical and non-technical visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts for publication.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Works with the Chief Marketing Officer in all aspects of campaign development and collaborates with credit union department heads on specific department marketing needs.
- Develops concepts and layouts for product illustrations, company designs, ads, and websites, ensuring brand integrity is delivered.
- Prepares finished copy by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment.
- Reviews and approves designs, and assists with the coordination of video, photography, artwork, and printing.
- Completes projects by coordinating with outside vendors, art services, printers, etc.
- Responsible for managing the company websites, intranet and social media channels.
- Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, digital media, video, social media, and direct mail- ensuring brand integrity is delivered.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of Orion’s products and services, leads in the development and introduction of new products and services.
- Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, opportunities, channels products and services.
- Works with the Chief Marketing Officer on projects with community partners.
- Manages public events and in-branch promotional events for Orion.
- Coordinates all Orion Employee volunteer efforts and tracks volunteer hours.
- Completes administrative tasks, maintains departmental records and function, including communicating with staff and vendors in coordinating the implementation of promotions and projects to meet deadlines.
- Composes, creates and delivers press releases, media relations content, executive bios and corporate newsletter content.
- Responsible for use of an automated marketing management software to build targeted lists and link to direct customized marketing mail, email and text campaigns.
- Researches and evaluates competitor products, new product opportunities, demand for potential products, and customer needs and insights in order to craft effective messaging.
- Makes recommendations regarding enhancements aimed at increasing membership and participation.
- Maintains a visible presence in the local community and sponsor community. Promotes the credit union through visible participation in business, community and charitable organizations and activities.
- Utilizes project management software and works successfully with vendors and other Orion departments to ensure marketing objectives are executed.
- Other related tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of HubSpot and design software preferred, such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Premier Pro.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
4+ years of related marketing experience, agency or in-house preferred. Experience in social media marketing and advertising management preferred.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including listening, oral, and written skills. Ability to work effectively, accurately, efficiently with a high degree of attention to detail. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities while working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Ability to be flexible and responsive in order to provide the highest quality of service to internal and external members. Ability to balance creativity and analytical thinking. Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook, PowerPoint.
