About the Position

SHMA is seeking a Director of Public Relations to lead PR strategy for the highly anticipated 2026 launch of AFEELA—an EV that fuses cutting-edge technology, mobility, and entertainment. This role is perfect for an experienced PR leader with deep industry expertise across a blend of automotive, entertainment, and tech.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a vision for shaping public perception through compelling storytelling. They will drive media relations, brand messaging, and campaign execution to position AFEELA as a revolutionary force in mobility and entertainment.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute innovative PR strategies and media campaigns that elevate AFEELA’s presence across automotive, tech, and entertainment sectors.
  2. Lead press events, media outreach, and strategic partnerships to generate buzz and secure top-tier coverage.
  3. Craft compelling narratives and PR materials that showcase AFEELA’s fusion of automotive innovation with Sony’s entertainment technologies.
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and industry leaders across automotive, entertainment, and tech.
  5. Oversee crisis communications and reputation management, ensuring alignment with SHMA’s brand image and business goals.
  6. Track, analyze, and optimize PR efforts to measure impact on brand awareness, media engagement, and consumer perception.
  7. Collaborate with marketing, product, and executive leadership to ensure PR aligns with SHMA’s overall growth strategy.
  8. Manage the SHMA media site, ensuring content is optimized for journalists and industry outlets.
  9. Work closely with Sony’s entertainment assets and tech partners to develop cross-industry campaigns that differentiate AFEELA in the EV space.

Qualifications for Position

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  2. 10+ years of PR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  3. Strong industry connections across automotive, entertainment, and tech media.
  4. Proven track record of high-profile product launches, particularly in EVs, entertainment, or technology.
  5. Exceptional storytelling and media relations skills, with a vision for brand-building.
  6. Expertise in crisis management, digital PR, and influencer engagement.
  7. Strong collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and executive teams.
  8. Passion for innovation, mobility, and entertainment-driven consumer experiences.

Salary Range & Compensation Details

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $180,000 to $190,000. This range does not include bonuses or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary depends on qualifications, years of relevant experience, unique skills, education level, certifications, and location.
