Hire Type: Full Time

Pay: Commensurate with experience

Work Schedule: Typically Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Travel up to 25% of the time.

Export Compliance Requirement: This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a "U.S. Person".

Job Summary

Produces complex video editing, videography, and graphics, as assigned. May lead and/or train audio and video support staff and/or students, as needed.

Essential Functions

  1. Conceptualizes and develops creative ideas for video content and motion graphics that align with research projects.
  2. Collaborates to storyboard, script, and plan video projects from conception to completion.
  3. Edits raw video footage into polished and compelling final products that meet project specifications and deadlines.
  4. Works closely with stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide creative input, and ensure that visual content meets expectations.
  5. Maintains organized files and assets and adheres to established workflows and processes to streamline production efficiency.
  6. Collaborates with other team members to ensure cohesive storytelling across various platforms and channels.
  7. Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Five (5) years of experience in video and audio media editing, motion graphics design, and client collaboration or related field. Every 30 hours of college coursework can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of third-party plug-ins, audio file formats, and different camera platforms and codecs.
  2. Excellent creative and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to translate ideas into visually compelling content.
  3. Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics, composition, and typography.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  5. Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively present and articulate creative ideas.
  6. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve software suites.

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
  2. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
  3. Ability to remain in a stationary position.
  4. Ability to position self to utilize video equipment to gain ideal shots in all types of environments including outdoors and confined spaces.
  5. Ability to move, transport, and/or deliver items, supplies, or equipment.
  6. Ability to move or traverse across campus, within buildings and offices, and/or across external environments.
  7. Ability to drive state vehicle.
  8. Ability to travel.
