We are looking for a remote Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation to facilitate communication or to be easily understood by a broad audience. You will need to quickly understand systems, how they interact with each other, their capabilities, architecture, and structures, to then dive deeper into creating, editing, and reviewing system documentation. Travel may be required at select times throughout the year.
The Must-Haves: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Must currently reside in the US
- Must have an associates degree or a 2 year technical school
- Experience: 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer
- Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning concepts, techniques, and methods
- Knowledge of trends in creative design, processes, products, digital media, and websites
- Skill in researching, compiling, and analyzing data to report findings
- Skill in using office automation tools (MS Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Email/Calendaring, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Create documentation that clarifies the DevSecOps product's features and benefits.
- Produce high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience.
- Work with stakeholders on product and documentation requirements.
- Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, and developer guides.
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards.
- Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.
- Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
- Create and maintain the information architecture.
- Translate technical software documentation from Defense Industry terms into usable, easily understood web content.
