Job Title: Internal Communications Specialist

Salary Range: $65,000-80,000

Location: Seattle (Hybrid)

About the Position

The Internal CommunicationsSpecialistis responsible for developing and executing an internal communications practice for the 2000+ employees at Evergreen Goodwill. This position is responsible for ensuring employees are informed, engaged and feel included as part of the larger Evergreen Goodwill organization.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Work with executive leaders and departments across the organization to conceptualize and execute internal communications for an incredibly diverse team of employees across the organization. Provide strategic communications counsel and lead the development of all internal campaigns to support key employee initiatives. Manage internal communications platforms and partner with employees across the organization at all levels to develop regular, relevant content. Craft clear and accurate communications for employee audiences with appropriate tone, language and length for the audience. Work with stakeholders to prepare clear, concise and compelling materials and talking points for internal-facing events. Communicate to employees in a way that builds trust, confidence and ultimately increases employee engagement and retention Collaborate with other members of the Marketing & Communications team to develop and manage internal story-telling efforts including employee or student spotlights. Lead the development of the internal communications strategy and editorial calendar to ensure optimal timing for messages. Maintain and refresh core employee-facing communication materials. Partner with appropriate teams on employee promotional items, branding efforts and recognition programs. Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents. Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in journalism, English, communications, public relations, marketing or similar field. Internal/employee communication background preferred. Minimum 3 years' experience in developing and delivering organizational communications. Experience working across multiple levels (including executive level); able to clearly communicate complex information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver key messages effectively both verbally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective professional relationships. Demonstrated ability to manage internal client relationships or has experience in an agency with similar client profiles Previous experience in planning and managing internal events. Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Proven organizational and project management skills. Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver key messages effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates strong understanding of diversity equity and inclusion practices and how to apply them when communicating with diverse audiences. Ability to manage sensitive situations discreetly Some people management experience is preferred Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

Communication certification preferred. Public speaking certifications preferred. Must have valid WA driver's license and proof of insurance. Computer/Technology Skills:

Proficiency level advanced knowledge with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). Familiarity with social media platforms. Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job. Physical Abilities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required sit for long periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing, required to lift and carry items weighing up to 15 pounds and to operate computer systems. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.
