RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technical Writer is expected to be able to:

  • Proven ability to distill complex information into clear, concise text.
  • Demonstrated excellent writing and grammar skills and ability to work independently and deliver accurate content under deadline pressure.
  • Develop Agency-level policy and related documentation in alignment with Department of Defense (DoD), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), DIA, and industry standards.
  • Develop and revise comprehensive documentation to capture detailed instructions for daily operations to ensure the defense of the Agency’s networks.
  • Coordinate with the IV&V and CSSP Teams to compile the TeKSynap Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Reports, which highlight the Teams key achievements.
  • Develop Agency-wide communications on emerging IT topics for a variety of mediums.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with a CI Poly
  • Have a minimum of five years in a technical or lead writing role.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering developer-oriented documentation as well as working directly with development teams.
  • Experienced using multiple tools to develop base templates and manipulate output styles.
  • High School diploma/Associates required.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of software development (SDLC), IC ITE, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and other key terminology in this role.
  • Demonstrated experience in transitioning applications to IC Information Technology Environment (ITE) and in-depth knowledge of IC ITE services.

Overview

We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our team supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency. The Technical Writer is responsible for creating and writing various types of user documents, including how-to guides, references, manuals, cheat sheets, or instructions. Explain scientific and technical ideas in simple language. Work with customers to translate their functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.

  • Work schedule: “Normal work hours” constitute on average 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week (excluding breaks and meal periods) within standard operational hours occurring 0600-1800, Monday-Friday, excluding Federal holidays. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
  • Amount of Travel: 20%
