The Director of Programmatic will be responsible first and foremost for driving revenue growth and increasing profitability throughout our programmatic business. The position includes maintaining existing SSP relationships, vetting new partners, and finding creative solutions to increase profitability and/or revenue amongst these partners. This role will manage operations for our Private Marketplace (PMP) and Programmatic Guaranteed (PG) business, ensuring deals are fully optimized from a scale and performance standpoint, while adhering to each buyer's campaign objectives. The ideal candidate will be comfortable speaking to the full life-cycle of our programmatic business in client facing situations, inclusive of operations, technical setup and ad stack, and our full suite of product offerings for buyers and/or publishers. This Director of Programmatic will interact with a number of different teams throughout the organization including but not limited to Yield/RevOps, Sales, AdOps, PubOps, Engineering and Data teams.

Typical wage range: $140k - $160k + Bonus

Responsibilities:
SSP Management:
- Manage our programmatic stack with a focus on revenue and profitability.
- Manage relationships with SSPs, exchanges, and other strategic demand partners to optimize performance and minimize discrepancies.
- Lead the initial vetting process of new SSP partners, and continuous negotiations with our existing SSPs.
Deal Execution, Strategy & Optimization:
- Assist Sales team with new product updates, lead gen opportunities, and sales packaging strategy.
- Monitor deal health, troubleshoot delivery issues and adjust targeting strategies to meet and exceed buyer KPIs
- Collaborate with the Sales team on structuring unique programmatic offerings necessary to secure annual commitments from buyers.
Revenue & Yield Optimization
- Develop and implement yield management strategies that strive to maximize RPM for our publisher partners
- Manage ad inventory categorization and segmentation, aligning with buyer demand and yield strategies.
- Work with PubOps to onboard and maintain premium inventory, ensuring alignment with SSP and DSP preferences.
- Continuous analysis of historical performance, identifying revenue trends and optimization opportunities.
Internal Collaboration:
- Work with the Engineering team to inform and prioritize product roadmap initiatives that impact the programmatic business
- Work with the Data team to refine audience segmentation strategies for higher deal performance.
- Work with the AudDev team to optimize syndication strategy and secure new syndication partnerships
- Create and refine dashboards tracking SSP performance, PMP deal health, and revenue trends, using Looker or Data Studio and distribute to various teams
- Develop Quarterly insights on programmatic industry trends, and business specific trends and distribute findings to leadership
Skills and Background:
- 5-10+ years experience in programmatic operations or revenue operations roles.
- Deep understanding of SSPs, DSPs, Prebid/oRTB, GAM, and other tech provider platforms
- Excellent analytical skills and a proven ability to handle large datasets in Excel, Looker, SQL or other similar tools
- Ability to lead cross-team collaboration, managing multiple stakeholders across PubOps, BD, Sales, Engineering, BI and Data.
- Hands on keyboard experience dealing with PMP setup, troubleshooting and optimization
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills when dealing with internal teams, publisher partners and buyers
