The Missouri Attorney General's Office is seeking a strategic, experienced, and dynamic communications leader to serve as Director of Communications. This is a senior level position managing all public messaging and media relations for the Attorney General. The Director of Communications serves as the chief spokesperson and media strategist. This role is responsible for developing and executing a proactive communications strategy, managing media relations, overseeing digital and public outreach efforts, and ensuring consistent and accurate messaging across all platforms. The qualified applicant is a proven communicator under pressure, skilled writer, and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast paced environment. They should possess strong leadership and management skills as they will lead a team responsible for press engagement, social media, speechwriting, and community building while ensuring all messaging aligns with the office's legal and policy priorities. 7+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or related field coupled with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, Political Science, Communications or a related discipline is highly preferred.
