Job Description:

We are seeking an individual with the ideal blend of marketing strategy, project management and client service to join our Client Marketing team. The successful candidate will bring proven experience building and executing integrated marketing plans for B2B brands.

The Director, Client Marketing is responsible for leadership and overall management of the Client relationship on collection of agency accounts. The Director, Client Marketing, along with the Account Manager, is held accountable for client satisfaction, high-quality work that delivers results, and account profitability. As the senior point of contact for the agency, s/he coordinates agency resources, builds strategic operational plans and balances the needs and expectations of the client with the needs of the company.

The Director, Client Marketing will maintain a thorough knowledge of the dynamics and workings of the clients' businesses, personnel and the competitive landscape; and inspire client trust by providing sound marketing counsel, excellent client service and focus on the client's success. S/he leads the development of strategic marketing plans for their clients, seeking alternative viewpoints and approaches in developing effective marketing strategies. S/he guides the team(s) to successfully implement projects within the agency on behalf of the client including creative, media, public relations, digital, agency operations and sales.

S/he establishes leadership within the agency and promotes a positive work environment by demonstrating personal accountability for attitude, confidentiality and professional maturity to become a driving force behind positive outcomes. This role will report to the EVP, Marketing & Agency Services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the driving force to achieve positive outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Builds and nurtures long-lasting client relationships so that clients repeatedly return with additional projects and invest in our services.


Job Duties:

Client-facing duties
  • Communicates with clients to understand their business and marketing objectives, success metrics/KPIs, industry, company and products.
  • Plans and leads immersion sessions, marketing workshops and kickoff meetings.
  • Demonstrates confidence and leadership as the day-to-day voice of the agency to the client.
  • Sets and manages client expectations around project scope, timelines, deliverables and outcomes.
  • Focuses and reports on campaign/project performance to ensure success metrics/KPIs are achieved.
  • Represents and advocates for the entire company, not just the agency, and looks for opportunities to grow accounts.


Internal-facing duties
• Leads the implementation of strategic marketing initiatives for their clients, guiding agency team(s) on behalf of the client including strategy, creative, media, public relations, web, and agency operations.
  • Writes clear, concise and strategic creative, media and/or project briefs, as well as marketing plans, collaborating with the SVP, Strategy.
  • Advocates for the client's point of view to internal teams and keeps the agency team informed, focused and enthused about the client's business.
  • Collaborates and maintains a positive relationship with sales account managers and leadership.
  • Evaluates the input, ideas and deliverables of creative, media and research relative to strategy and approved briefs.
  • Takes ownership of overall quality of work on accounts, including client service and deliverables.
  • Provides effective and efficient oversight of agency resources to ensure projects are delivered as promised in terms of time, budget and results.
  • Recognizes and resolves conflict situations, both internally and externally.
  • Provides a model for project and agency leadership ... prepared and proactive, thorough and accurate.
  • Creates and recognizes opportunities to grow Client's business and acts upon them with the help of senior management and appropriate company resources.


Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 year college degree in marketing, advertising or related field
  • 7+ years account management experience in a marketing or agency environment
  • The ability to plan and strategize at a senior level and communicate with C-level executives
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative environment across multiple disciplines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on complex assignments
  • Dedication to delivering the highest level of quality
  • Flexibility to meet shifting client needs and priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Occasional travel is required for client visits and new business presentations
  • Standard office hours, though deadlines or the demands of a client may require working outside of regular office hours to ensure continued success
  • This is a full-time, in-office position
