Cryptographic Vulnerability Analyst

Description:
The Cryptographic Vulnerability Analyst will be responsible for identifying vulnerability of and attacks to cryptographic algorithms, functions, products, applications and systems, characterizing those attacks with respect to the resources and capabilities required to accomplish those attacks, and relating those vulnerabilities and attacks to their effects on the operations and missions supported by those systems. Comparing and contrasting various cryptographic attack techniques and developing operationally effective countermeasures. Providing formal and informal reports, briefings, and perspectives of actual and potential attacks against the systems, technologies, applications, operations, or missions being studied.
Create and maintain documentation on technical information
Document research processes, analyses and/or the results
Write logical and accurate technical reports to communicate ideas across the enterprise
Conduct security evaluations of HW or SW components or architectures
Develop mitigation strategies and countermeasures to address vulnerabilities of networks, products and services
Ensure secure transmission by designing, evaluating or modifying encryption schemes or algorithms
Evaluate methods, tools and techniques that can be used to secure information/communication systems and the facilities that house them
Analyze data using mathematical/statistical methods
Analyze new algorithms and protocols
Analyze problems to determine technical solutions
Apply mathematical or computational methods and lines of reasoning
Decide what procedures will be required to solve technical problems
Evaluate solution design and technical proposals
Identify new applications of known techniques
Identifying vulnerabilities to attack communications networks and systems and developing countermeasures
Providing security analysis, evaluation and guidance on the design and implementation of cryptographic and communication protocols
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience in design, development, use and evaluation of mathematics models, methods or techniques (e.g. cryptographic algorithms) to study issues and solve problems; and in vulnerability analysis, penetration testing or computer forensics, may include information/cyber/network security and/or information assurance
Experience with Python, C/C++, Linux, Windows OS and Wireshark
