General position summary:

We are seeking a Communications Coordinator to support our award-winning marketing team and enhance UMC's communications initiatives. Responsibilities will include writing, editing, designing company materials, social media, and website and Intranet updates.The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing skills and strong attention to detail. If you also have a high degree of flexibility, independence, and marketing experience balanced with a digital mindset, we'd like to meet you! Ultimately, your goal will be to ensure our company's message is clearly and consistently communicated in alignment with our brand across all channels both internally and externally.The Communications Coordinator is responsible for executing all facets of company communications including, but not limited to, our corporate identity and branding, social media, website updating and content development, internal communications, and award submissions. Additionally, this role requires working closely with employees across our organization to develop necessary content. Essential job functions :1. Interpreting creative direction and technical information and turning them into persuasive copy concepts2. Ensure communications are consistent in design and tone, and follow the UMC brand guidelines3. Assist Communications Manager in developing and implementing a communications strategy designed to further company objectives (internally and externally) 4. Draft and edit communications (press releases, articles, blogs, profiles/case studies, social media posts, etc.)5. Develop and execute video content6. Staying up to date with new SEO, social media and digital marketing industry trends, tools and practices, which are constantly changing7. Maintain and update collateral materials: design ads, company collateral, brochures, fact sheets, signage, stickers, invitations, etc., as needed8. Assist in producing and maintaining web content and executing social media strategies as well as email marketing execution and reporting9. Proposes new ideas and concepts for social media content and assists with social media management with large projects, events, and social community management10. Track, report, and analyze website and social media analytics11. Facilitate effective internal communications to keep staff informed12. Provide administrative and database support to the marketing team as needed Secondary job functions:

1. Represent UMC to clients, peer organizations, and business associates2. Assist team as required with proposal and communications deadline responsibilities Skills Required to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:

•Writing and graphic design samples required •Excellent writing skills and ability to maintain a clear and consistent brand voice•Proficiency in the following areas: attention to detail; editing; researching; oral and written communication •Desire to "champion" tasks •Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team •Ability to multitask, identify priorities and meet deadlines •Technology savviness, fluent using social media, blogs, website administrator tools, database and email systems •Knowledge of relevant SEO tactics and applications is a plus •Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft 365 •Graphic design abilities/experience a plus Education/ Experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job: •Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related field preferred •2+ years of experience in marketing, copywriting, or technical writing Licensing or Other Special Certifications Required:

Paid Time Off:

Eligible employees begin accruing PTO as of their date of hire and accrual rates are based on years of service. Base annual accrual starts at 120 hours/15 days for full time status. PTO is a combination of sick and vacation accruals. UMC follows the required WA State Sick Leave guidelines and employees are provided (1) for every 40 hours worked as part of the PTO package. UMC also offers (7) paid holidays, plus (1) Floating Holiday to be used within the calendar year.
