About the Position The Institute is seeking a Community Manager to build strong relationships with our fellows and trustees through in-person and virtual interactions. In this role you will manage curated communication channels among our fellows and trustees and provide regular updates to inform the community about our operations and events. You will assist the team during regular operations and special events. This individual will have a deep understanding of our ethos, level of service, as well as organization and logistics of events. This is an in-person, full-time, and salaried position. Key Responsibilities Serve as a point of contact for fellows Be the connective tissue for the fellow community through deep understanding of each fellows’ interest Oversee and manage well-curated official Institute communication channels Develop communication processes and strategies Oversee the planning and successful implementation of a robust calendar of events Oversee fellowship development and fellow engagement Assist with daily operations and special events Continuously improve and refine internal processes to improve the quality and consistency of guest services Requirements Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Exceptional writing and editing skills with high attention to detail Strong personal skills, knowledgeable about world affairs with an interest in a wide area of subjects including science Experience as communications/public relations manager a plus Experience in managing/coordinating structured social connection Excellent collaborator with a commitment to teamwork Creative mindset with a strong focus on guest experience and engagement Excellent judgment and ability to maintain strict confidentiality High level of organization skills with a strong eye for aesthetics Must be willing to travel to potential community meet ups elsewhere in the world 5+ years professional experience in a similar role Be positive, outgoing, attentive and kind Ability to work independently and drive new initiatives Fluent in computer software (office suites such as Google and Microsoft, spreadsheets, presentation tools, communication tools) Ability to perform essential physical job functions, including periods of standing and sitting, lifting objects up to 30 pounds, and maneuvering through all areas of the property Must be committed to our operational hours with occasional evening work
