We are seeking a skilled

Technical Documentation Specialist

to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining complex technical documentation that supports the marketing, operation, repair, and maintenance of our cutting-edge products. Your work will ensure that all documentation adheres to industry standards, government regulations, and company specifications. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, product managers, and designers to create clear, user-friendly, and technically accurate content. Your ability to understand complex systems and translate them into understandable language will be crucial to our success. Key Responsibilities: Create and Revise Technical Documentation : Develop and maintain a variety of documents, including product descriptions, operating procedures, fault isolation, maintenance procedures, illustrated parts breakdowns (IPB), and marketing literature. Compliance and Standards : Ensure all documentation complies with customer requirements, government regulations, and company standards. Collaboration and Research : Work with engineering teams to gather technical data, analyze engineering drawings, and translate this information into clear documentation. Graphics and Illustrations : Evaluate and incorporate illustrations and graphics into documentation. Collaborate with graphic designers to create or update visuals. Project Support : Contribute to time and cost estimates for projects. Provide input on document structure, style, and design. Use of Publishing Tools : Utilize advanced publishing software (e.g., Arbortext Epic Editor, Oxygen) and PDF tools to create and edit technical documents. Industry Knowledge : Stay updated on industry trends and tools to ensure documentation remains accurate and relevant. Safety Compliance : Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with safety policies. Required Skills and Qualifications: Technical Expertise : Working knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electronics, and system operations to write clear technical documentation. Software Proficiency : Experience with publication software (e.g., Arbortext Epic Editor, Oxygen), MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat for PDF markups. Strong Writing Skills : Excellent written communication skills with a keen attention to detail, ensuring clear, concise, and accurate documentation. Collaboration Skills : Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering and project management. Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable language for non-technical audiences. Customer Interaction : Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact with clients and customers (when applicable). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the

defense

or

automotive

industry. Familiarity with

Content Management Systems (CMS)

for document management. Experience with

on-vehicle validation/verification . Knowledge of

military and commercial standards

and

interactive electronic technical manual (IETM)

development. Education and Experience: Required : Bachelors degree in a relevant technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required : Minimum of 2 years of relevant technical writing experience. Preferred : Experience in the

defense

or

automotive
