Technical Writer II

This position requires the candidate to work on site in Crane, Indiana or at our Collaboratory in Bloomington, Indiana. The main purpose of this position is to support a team in the development of maintenance training for a new Naval system. The successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team and be able to deliver high-quality work on time.

Responsibilities:

•Interpret and synthesize engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with ISEAs, and other available sources

•Develop and write technical documentation and manuals in accordance with MIL-STDs

•Edit and proofread documents with attention to detail

•Create and update tables, manipulate graphics and drawings, create and update flow charts, and format/layout text

Requirements

Requirements:

•Bachelor's degree in a related field

•Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)

•Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite

•Experience with DoD Industry

•Experience interpreting and synthesizing engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with ISEAs, and other available sources

•Experience with MIL-STDs

•Experience with Adobe products including Photoshop and Illustrator

•Strong editing and proofreading skills

•Proficient in desktop publishing

•Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
