Location: Agnostic with travel as needed Reporting to: Head - Communications and Strategic partnerships Experience: 3-6 years About CEGIS Centre for Effective Governance of Indian States (CEGIS pronounced See-Jis) aims to improve lives by helping Indian state governments deliver better development outcomes. Position Summary The Senior Programme Associate - communications will be a key member of the communications team with specific focus on managing the website as well as lead on all events - both internal and external. He / she may also be required to take on more projects depending on the organisation need and priorities. Key Responsibilities: Management and enhancement of the website: The website CEGIS.org should serve as the single source of up-to-date information about the organisation and its activities. This role requires working with teams (including closely with the writer for the website and the tech team) to make sure content is presented in as engaging a manner as possible. Benchmark other best in class websites and work on ideas to improve visual appeal and time spent on the same. Come up with ideas for increasing viewership and time spent on the website. Increase engagement of all content: While content will be developed across the team and using external agency/vendor support, this role can play a key role in identifying certain improvements/ideas to make the content more engaging. This requires a deep understanding of all our audiences and insights to drive action. End to end event management: This role will lead (working with other members of the communications team) the end-to-end event management for all external events as well as work with P&C and the CEO's office for employee events like the annual retreat. This includes the entire cycle from concept to design to execution and post-event amplification. Key skills - vendor management, project management, partnership outreach and amplification. Other projects and workstreams will be assigned based on org need and priorities - the incumbent must be willing to stretch across the gamut of comms and activities to support donor management, fundraising and partnerships. Qualifications and Skills: Any graduate degree; diploma in a communications or design field would be an advantage though not mandatory. This is a design and visual communications focus role, so while base writing skills are needed, the focus here has to be on delivering top quality visually appealing content. The incumbent is expected to be familiar with basic design software and techniques and must have the ability to supervise and deliver quality design output with vendors and partners. Understanding of basic techniques of website management and video production would be an added advantage. Demonstrated experience in communicating complicated concepts simply and succinctly.
