The Fargo Park District has a robust marketing and communications calendar in the summer season, May-August. Candidates will work on various projects to promote the park district activities in the following departments: Courts Plus, Events, Fargo Parks Sports Center, Forestry, Golf, Parks, Recreation, and Valley Senior Services.
Candidates will gain experience in media management, content management, and community engagement. A successful candidate has an interest in parks, sports and recreation, is self-motivated, a team player, and desires to experience diverse marketing projects that can include writing, graphic design, website and public communication.

Job Description:
Responsibilities may include the following:
- Participate in the planning and implementation of community engagement activities at public events to gather information for Fargo Park District projects.
- Create and incorporate engaging photos, stories, and reels for the Fargo Park District sub-brands social media accounts at the direction of the Marketing Communications Specialists.
- Assist in the management of email marketing campaigns to promote the Fargo Park District departments, events, programs and public feedback, including monthly e-newsletter.
- Capture engaging photos and videos at the direction of the Marketing Communications Specialist to support the promotion of Fargo Park District programs.
- Assist in production and promotion of Fargo Golf including Discover Junior Golf and weekly podcast Muni Misfits, including uploading to Spotify, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Edit and develop content for the Fargo Park District websites at the direction of the Marketing Communications Specialist.
- Write news releases for upcoming events, blogs and supporting materials.
- Follow brand guidelines to create impactful marketing materials.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing or having completed a Degree in Communication, Graphic Design, Marketing, Public Relations, Multimedia Journalism or related field preferred.
- Experience with social media, media writing, editorial skills and photo/video editing is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills.
- Ability to actively participate as a team member in projects.
- Skillful writing, high quality content and editorial skills.
- Experience with design programs (Adobe Creative Suite and Canva) is preferred.
- Experience with photo/video elements that include Premier Pro and Photoshop is preferred.
- Thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Interested in the Fargo/Moorhead area and all things local.
- Actively involved in the community.
