BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing Program Manager assists in developing cross-channel marketing programs to generate demand, drive customer acquisition and retention, increase sales penetration and/or create brand awareness. This role works across the company, with areas such as Marketing, Category Management and Sales, to help optimize the customer journey and achieve aggressive business growth targets through the use of digital and traditional marketing.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contributes to the partnership between Category Management, Marketing COE’s and other cross functional business units to align on category and supplier strategy, industry vertical approach, business needs, industry drivers and competitive dynamics which inform the formulation and execution of targeted, innovative marketing and communication plans
Assists with strategic marketing and communication programs to achieve specific objectives by leveraging customer insights, brand insights, and category content to create and execute marketing plans, messaging, creative and tactics
Helps lead strategy sessions with agency partners and liaises between internal customers and external creative resources / agencies in the design of programs, campaigns, promotional material, and sales collateral.
Works to develop and implement marketing programs to achieve stated objectives regarding profitable revenue growth, market share capture within specific customer/industry segments, customer retention, new customer acquisition, and customer penetration.
Assesses the effectiveness of marketing programs on an ongoing basis and reports accordingly. Tracks the Key Performance Indicators of marketing initiatives and analyzes and distills data into actionable insights to inform campaign strategy and ultimately to improve campaign results
Aids in the development of budget for marketing programs and ensures that program expenditures stay on track against budget, plan and forecast
Manages budget tracking and analysis of campaigns and events
Participates in pre and post event and tradeshow planning and execution including but not limited to event research, managing event assets and materials, and creation and execution of project plan and event logistics.
Tracks results of campaign components and events to inform opportunities to improve process and performance
Stays current with and recommends communication methods, vehicles and technologies to engage with various audiences and tests content formats and distribution channels to determine the optimal approach to reaching and converting target audiences.
Protects the MSC brand by ensuring consistency in communications and adherence to brand standards.
Works to develop sales enablement tools and marketing collateral including items such as: sell sheets, sales flyers, white papers, website content, social media, case studies, presentations, ROI calculators, and trade advertising
With the direction of the Manager, Marketing Communications, helps to direct external resources such as marketing agencies, photographers, videographers and print and digital vendors to ensure timely flow of projects and that all corporate brand standards are met.
Fosters the MSC Culture within the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose
Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or the equivalent experience is required.
Minimum of five years business experience with a minimum of three years in a marketing function required
Integrated marketing experience with an emphasis on content, demand generation, sales enablement, and digital is required
Proven success in creating marketing programs that impact sales and profitability growth required
Segmentation, CRM, MRM / campaign management, salesforce.com experience preferred.
Previous management experience required
SKILLS:
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, required
Excellent time management and organizational skills required
Creative thinker with a demonstrated ability to create innovative marketing programs, along with developing relationships and influencing key stakeholders
Ability to manage outsourced agency partners and suppliers
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, on multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines
Proven ability to deliver against expected outcomes using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
Familiarity with agile marketing processes preferred
Ability and flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities
Competent in both digital and traditional marketing disciplines preferred.
Competent in sales enablement discipline preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed are required.
This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).
Compensation starting at $72100 - $113000 depending on experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
