We are seeking a Structural Designer to develop detailed structural drawings based on applicable specifications and work order instructions. The role ensures that the design product and engineering deliverables conform to engineering design and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop detailed structural drawings based on specifications and work order instructions.
2. Ensure design products and engineering deliverables conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
3. Prepare Bills of Material (BOM).
4. Consult with vendors on project-related activities.
5. Coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups, considering ease of manufacture, material availability, and contractual specifications.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 3 years of structural design experience within the shipbuilding industry.
2. Proficiency in using AutoCAD and 3D modeling software, particularly Ship Constructor.
3. Working knowledge of USCG, ABS, SOLAS, and other government shipbuilding standards (e.g., NVR, NAVSEA, MIL).
4. Basic computer experience with Microsoft Office products (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Skills:

1. Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling using Ship Constructor software.
2. Strong understanding of structural design principles in the shipbuilding industry.
3. Ability to prepare accurate and detailed Bills of Material (BOM).
4. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
5. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
