Serving others is as easy as planting a school garden, reading to a child, performing clerical duties, working in a park, assisting with tasks at the Parkland Library, or educating families about important programs that can empower their lives and help break cycles of poverty. By sharing the resource of your time, you can empower other residents through service, and get connected to the City’s wealth of diverse communities and people.

Responsibilities:

Assisting City of Parkland staff members with various responsibilities in the Library.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Must be at least 14 years old.
  2. Ability to sort and file alphabetically and numerically.
  3. Ability to follow simple oral directions.
  4. Ability to interact with others.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively.
  6. Ability to perform light physical tasks.
  7. Ability to lift items as necessary for searching.
  8. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  9. Positive interpersonal relations.
  10. Customer Service Skills.
  11. Enjoy working with others.

Physical Requirements:

Assignment may require lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, or negligible weights constantly. Volunteers must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, squat, climb ladders and step stools, push, and pull.
