Overview
Our On-Air Talent serves as the “voice” of EMF. This position is charged with personally connecting with our listeners in a positive and creative way, bringing to life EMF’s mission and vision to our audience. This position enthusiastically communicates original and creative material that develops a positive rapport with our audience and provides a compelling reason to listen. In addition, this position develops “relationships” with our audience and the community through music, inspiring stories, and “who they are” on and off air, resulting in increased listenership and commitment of our listeners.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example and proactively influence our culture by demonstrating a positive, energetic influence throughout the ministry.
- Creatively and consistently perform on-air duties for KLOVE, implementing the programming vision in an original and compelling way.
- Conduct appropriate daily show prep that consistently brings original material to the show.
- Participate as a key member of the Programming Team; positively identify, suggest, support, and implement creative ideas, concepts, and copy.
- Assist in daily production assignments including voicing, writing and producing as assigned.
- Develop and build strong relationships within the community that result in enhanced ministry visibility and brand recognition and promotional partnerships that align with and grow the target market.
- Support and follow EMF policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Maintain professional competency, knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform job duties by taking personal responsibility for professional development and training.
- Provide a positive, energetic influence with the KLOVE team and throughout the ministry.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Reports to
EMF Group Program Director
Minimum Requirements
- BS/BA degree in communications, mass media, public relations, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an On-Air Talent (Major market experience preferred).
- Experience working with Christian Radio.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience developing creative and relevant content.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently; establishing and meeting performance/ministry goals.
- Must pass a pre-employment reference screen.
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.

Work Environment
The team member is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel, work keys and locks, and talk and hear. The team member is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The team member is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The team member is regularly in a typical office environment with adequate light and moderate noise levels. Team member to public interaction in person, over the telephone, and/or via computer is high.
