About The Opportunity

This role exists to enhance and improve the user interface and user experience (UI/UX) for internal software platforms and digital products by focusing on creating intuitive and visually appealing designs that prioritize user needs. Responsibilities include research, wireframing, prototyping, and testing to ensure optimal usability and satisfaction across all interactions.

What will you be doing?

  1. Information Architecture:
    • Demonstrate and continue to develop a thorough understanding of all the internal software platforms and digital products at TruHearing in order to have a better understanding of how they are used to support our business processes and make strategic design decisions.
    • Organize and structure content within our internal software platforms and digital products to make it easy for all users to navigate and find information.
  2. User Research:
    • Conduct user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors.
    • Wireframing and Prototyping:
      • Create low-fidelity and high-fidelity mockups to visualize the layout and interaction flow of a product or system.
  3. Visual Design:
    • Design visual elements like color palettes, typography, and iconography to create cohesive and aesthetically pleasing interfaces.
  4. Interaction Design:
    • Define how users interact with interfaces, including transitions, animations, and micro-interactions.
  5. Usability Testing:
    • Conduct tests to identify areas for improvement in user experiences and interactions, and iterate designs based on feedback.
  6. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design alignment with business requirements and product goals.
    • Take on any ad-hoc projects as needed to support the product team and the overall software group.

What education or experience is required?

Required

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field and four (4+) years of professional experience in the following:

  1. Design Software Proficiency:
    • Expertise in design tools like Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, InVision, and Photoshop.
  2. User-Centered Design Methodologies:
    • Understanding of user research methods, user personas, and design thinking for iteration through the design process to build on and refine the initial design.
  3. Visual Design Skills:
    • Strong aesthetic sense, color theory, typography, and layout principles.
  4. Interaction Design Skills:
    • Knowledge of interaction patterns, user flows, and accessibility guidelines.
  5. Technical Understanding:
    • Basic understanding of front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript Frameworks) to effectively communicate design ideas.
  6. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Excellent ability to present design concepts, gather feedback, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
(A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.)

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field and six (6+) years of professional experience with the above forementioned aspects and one (1+) years of professional experience in the following:

  1. Technical Understanding:
    • Basic coding ability in front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript Frameworks) and/or an elevated understanding of front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript Frameworks) to clearly communicate design ideas.
  2. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Professional experience with product management responsibilities and concepts.
(A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.)
