Title: UX Researcher
Location: San Francisco Bay Area - Offices in Menlo Park, Burlingame, and Sunnyvale
Duration: 12 months + likely extensions
Compensation: $63.00 - $85.00/hr

About this position:
- This Research Team brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of virtual and augmented reality, which will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today. We are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, including optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interfaces, haptic interaction, eye/hand/face/body tracking, perception science, and true telepresence.
- The Research Audio team is focused on creating virtual sounds that are perceptually indistinguishable from reality and redefining human hearing. We are seeking a contract UX Researcher to help us advance an ambitious research project aiming to develop technologies that will augment human capabilities and enable effortless communication in acoustically challenging environments.
Responsibilities:
The main function of a UX Researcher is to conduct research studies with human subjects. The UXR is responsible for the set-up, implementation, and data collection for in-person and remote studies. This is a senior-level UXR position with increased responsibility for driving research studies, including owning experimental design, conducting user studies, collecting data, analyzing data, and creating reports with findings and recommendations for the research and product teams.
Skill Requirements:
- 3+ years of industry experience with qualitative and quantitative research.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's or higher education preferred. Course work or lab experience in speech perception/production, psycholinguistics, hearing science, language-focused cognitive psychology, auditory neuroscience, social science, psychology, and similar fields.
- Experience with hardware products, preferably consumer electronics or wearable devices.
- Human-subject research experience.
- Experience with data analysis and programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL is a plus.
