Job Description:
The Technical Writer position is responsible for developing written content for various types of media supporting multiple disciplines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Write machine instructions that meet OSHA and other relevant safety standards as directed by the machinery risk assessment and safety engineer.
- Prioritize, plan, and schedule workload based on project milestones for Assembly, Test, Machine Checkout and Final Documentation.
- Utilize the content management system to upload and manage customer documentation.
- Take digital still and/or digital video photos to document machine operations.
- Create materials to support product training efforts.
- Interact with subject matter experts to gather information for creating communications.
- Lead special projects as assigned.
- Use desktop publishing concepts and principles to compile technical data, illustrations, operating information, and other pertinent data for the writing and illustration of required documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A bachelor’s or associate degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Journalism, Mechanical/Electrical Design, or a related field. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
- Ability to plan and organize multiple projects.
- Prioritize writing requirements according to business needs.
- Knowledgeable in communications, advertising or marketing, social media, journalism, and writing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.

- Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards.
- Travel by air or car occasionally.
