Job Description:

As an experienced subject matter expert in ECAD and MCAD applications, such as Creo, Windchill, NX, and Xpedition, will be responsible for providing support with initiatives and troubleshooting applications in support of ECAD/MCAD utilization and supporting program DL. Support solid modeling standardization and issue resolution. Serve as HW Engineering Tools Liaison working closely with DES (EIT), and supporting Digital Engineering initiatives, while communicating, tracking, and awareness with upper management on open issues, tasking, and status of issues.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Represent HW Engineering with expert level interaction with DES (EIT) facilitating the solutions of problems and opportunities on engineering tools and processes.
  • Expert level utilization of solid modeling/drawing applications such as PTC Creo Parametric.
  • Mechanical aptitude and expert understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques.
  • Familiarity with applicable government and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices).

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience working strategy, planning and implementation of engineering applications, specialized engineering computers and systems
  • Experience with government and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices)
  • 5+ years experience working with PTC Windchill and Creo parametric applications
  • Experienced working process improvement initiatives

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Expert level design engineering skills with large assembly design, complex surfaces, structures, mechanisms, mechanical packaging, castings, machined parts, composites, plastics, sheet metal, cable routing, harness manufacturing layout, manufacturing tooling, and inspection/gauge fixtures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of job area and in-depth knowledge of project management.
  • Experience conducting investigations to understand root cause of problems
  • Capable of providing input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results
