Who we’re looking for

ParentSquare’s CMS, Smart Sites, is growing! We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Designer to join the team. In this role, you will create visually appealing and engaging designs that reflect each client’s unique branding while balancing project constraints with client goals, accessibility guidelines, best practices for user experience, and timelines.

This role will:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs, business goals, and technical requirements for the CMS product.
  2. Design intuitive user interfaces, interactions, and experiences for content creation, management, and publication workflows.
  3. Develop wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications to effectively communicate design solutions.
  4. Build, maintain, and execute design systems for both front and back end UI components.
  5. Ensure consistency and adherence to the established design systems across all aspects of the CMS product.
  6. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  7. Work closely with engineers to implement designs, provide design support, and ensure a seamless user experience.
  8. Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices within the organization.
  9. Support product managers in prioritizing features, defining product roadmaps, and aligning design efforts with overall product strategy.
  10. Prioritize design tasks based on the potential impact to customer satisfaction, sales, retention, and internal efficiency.

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field (preferred but not required).
  2. Proven work experience as a product designer, UI/UX designer, graphic/web designer, or similar role, preferably with a focus on CMS or content-related products.
  3. Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects, including web and logo design.
  4. Proficiency in design software such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  5. Solid understanding of ADA contrast compliance guidelines and ability to implement them in designs.
  6. Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
  7. Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions to cross-functional teams.
  8. Ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  9. Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and responsive design principles.
  10. Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for designing inclusive digital experiences.
  11. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  12. Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for creating innovative, user-centric solutions.
  13. Knowledge of content strategy principles and familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, or similar systems.
